December 18, 2003 - January 4, 2004

On this trip, like the "Europe '02" and "Europe '03" trips, I sent daily
email updates to several friends and family back home. These emails have become the
"trip descriptions" found in all the following pages. So when you click on a date,
the first thing you will see is the email which relates to that date. This is then
followed by the thumbnail photographs taken on that day. Please wait for all
thumbnails to load before clicking on any one. That will make coming back to the page
after you've seen the first fullsize picture faster. Some pages have up to
50 pictures in them.

And finally, the trip costs: Well, itemized, it came out like this:

Flight: $900
Hotels: $1500
Food: $150
Car Rental, including insurance: $1300
Gasoline: (I drove 6,500 km; approximating cost at 9km/liter and 0.80 Euro/liter): $700
Parking: $200
Miscellaneous (admissions, internet usage fees, etc): Maybe about $500-$600

So the total cost was approximately $5,500 for eighteen total days.

If I had not rented a car and taken the train everywhere, the total cost of the trip
would probably have been in the neighborhood of $3000 for 18 days... (savings on car
rental, gas, parking, and some nights hotels would be converted to overnight trains)

So let's get on with it.....
