10:31 AM = Started car. This trip isn't over yet! 8268.2 trip miles. 17325 total.
I put away both the Alaska maps and Yukon map, and opened both the BC/AB maps -- even though I dont really need them today. Now off to Valemount, BC -- 12 hours drive. It's foggy and drizzling -- no views today on this very scenic road. But I got "rain music" on and I'm in roadtrip mode now!
10:57-11:15 = Slight detour through Diana Lake Provincial Park. I'll give it just for the heck of it! (But maybe I'm biased!)
11:19 = Also a stop at Diana Creek (8284.4 miles)
11:30 = And just like that, the rain is gone and I can see!!
12:05/8328 = That was a GREAT ride last 4 minutes 36 seconds to the tune of "Where the streets have no name" -- but I'm COLD now! Just gorgeous ... both "Super" and "Natural"!
12:32/8358.9 = Terrace, BC: Had a BIG Pizza Hut lunch buffet!
2:03/8407 = Naptime.
3:00 PM = On the road again.
6:06/8590 = Another black bear (total trip count = 9), but he ran away into the forest too fast!
7:54/8718 = Prince George city limits.
8:26/8728.0 = Drove by the CAA office on Victoria Street (Hwy 16) -- I remember that place!
Only 8:30 and the sun is so low on the horizon! Feels so strange now...
8:44/8748.7 = Watching the sunset in the rearview mirror -- tonight will be the first time on this trip that I'll still be driving after dark -- after July 14 -- the night I left! Lot more night driving coming up in the next 2 days..
9:46/8824.1 = The sun has set a long time ago, it's not 100% dark yet, I'm driving with my high beams on, the moon is out behind the clouds making them glow, and it may be a full moon. So this is what it's like driving at night!!!
