Yesterday's drive was 876 miles, today I wanna reach at least Tucson (891 miles) -- or if possible, even Vegas, juuuust in case Bryce clears up tomorrow!! Vegas is 418 miles beyond Tucson -- I cant go on I-40 coz its snowing from Grants to Kingman. It's a beautiful day in Weatherford..... Now Westward Ho!
9:55/6050.2 = On The Road Again
11:27/6164.8 = x292A in Abilene. Strangely enough, I've missed this town -- even though I have no reason to!
Where have the oil pumps gone?
$26.57 = 17.726 Gallons = 6171.0 miles. Cleaned the windshield & lights and got lunch and dinner at Subway.
12:07/6177.5 = Back on the road again @ x278
I'm waiting for the 80 MPH speed limit, every time I see a sign thats a county border, I get my hopes up and then they're CRUSHED! :-(
12:30/6200 = Lunchtime.
2:12/6318.8 = Back on the road again after a quick 6-minute pit stop at x136
2:25/6335.7 = Been wandering in my mind for the last 13 minutes. I might end the day in Van Horn instead of Tucson or Las Vegas -- that'll leave 1310 miles for tomorrow, with a 2 hours time advantage. But Bryce will be out. But I can also rest comfortably tonight... website also needs updating... Van Horn EMA is 6500 miles, ETA 4:45.
2:52/6369.5 = Finally the speed limit is 80 MPH!! (at m86)
I-10 is 186 miles in Texas (from end of I-20), 165 in New Mexico, and a little more than 390 miles in Arizona. Tucson is exit #260 at JCT I-19. I-10x199 = JCT I-8 in Casa Grande.
3:24/6411.6 = Passed x42 for U.S. 285 in Pecos. This is where I had stayed on the 23rd.
3:29/6418.7 = That train was 1.6 miles long.
3:54 PM = 6453.5 = End of I-20. Joined good ole I-10 again @ m186 (or m0). The speed limit is still 80 for now...
4:03/6464.6(4?) = Appletime.
4:13/6773.3 = Muffintime.
4:17/6481.7 = Muffintime.
4:18/6483.9 = Cornflakestime.
4:29/6498.4 = Didn't take x140B in Van Horn. I'm enjoying the ride too much.
4:29/6499.2 = Didn't take x140A in Van Horn. I'm enjoying the ride too much.
4:31 CST/6500.6 = Didn't take x139 (or was that 138?) in Van Horn. I'm STILL enjoying the ride way too much.
3:33 MST/6504.2 = Entered Mountain Time Zone and Hudspeth County.
4:27/6577.0 = Entered El Paso County near m62 -- the speed limit is back down to 70 MPH, never to be 80 again for the rest of this trip.
4:55/6610.0 = x28A in El Paso. The Chevron was closed! I'm backtracking to Shell now...
$29 = 17.589 Gallons (6612.2).
5:09/6612.3 = On the road again, 1 exit before where I left -- there's a ncie sunset behind the mountains to the left -- over Mexico.
5:36/6641.0 = Entered The Land Of Enchantment -- a state often confused with the country to the South.
The last time I was in New Mexico was from 2:11 PM on December 21 to 3:07 PM on December 23. 1 day, 23 hours, and 57 minutes ... this time I'll be crossing the state in just over 2 hours -- hopefully ... But I dont expect any traffic here unless there's an accident.
6:33 PM/6710 = Its raining and/or snowing all along I-40 from Albuquerque to Kingman ... Here on I-10 there is a clear sky and since there are no big cities nearby, all the stars are visible! I just opened the moonroof and its so great I might even drive thru the night tonight!
"I'm as free as a bird" on Roadtrips #6/8.
"If I leave here tomorrow will you still remember me?
I must be travelling on now, there's too many places I gotta see"
7:45/6803.7 = Entered the Grand Canyon State. Home is 1000 miles from here, via Needles and Blythe... Its NOT SNOWING in Bryce or anywhere there tomorrow!!!
7:51 PM/6812.0 = Dinnertime.
9:10/6913.4 = 25,000 total odometer miles!
9:22/6928.4 = I-10 is closed ahead for construction...
9:25/6931.2 = x263 for Kino Pkwy
10:01 PM = Checked in at Comfort Inn Tucson. If the freeway was not closed I could've been in Casa Grande or beyond by now, but now I'm feeling sleepy. So, ... Bryce is out for tomorrow -- or very very very unlikely. Maybe Zion, hmmmmm....
