Subject: Charlie.
guten tag from Checkpoint Charlie. to those of you who donīt know, iīm back in
europe again - third time this year, and will be in berlin for the next 3 days.
my original flight itinerary was from San Jose to Los Angeles to London to
Berlin. I flew into LA just fine, then the flight from LA to London got
cancelled due to mechanical problems. the airline put me up in the Westin Hotel
at LAX - very nice! Next day stayed all day at the Admirals Club in LAX,
watching tv, sipping drinks, eating cookies, carrots, cookies, celery sticks,
cookies, and sandwhiches and surfing the web until the flight departure time -
6:10 PM. saw "Theres something about Mary", "Godsend" and the first half of
"The Stepford wives" before finally falling asleep for the rest of the flight,
waking up at breakfast time over Ireland, with a great view of the northern
Ireland -- no clouds!!! flew over Liverpool, Birmingham, and into Heathrow.
Then transfer to the other terminal [without passport check] for the flight to
Dusseldorf, Germany while trying extremely hard to keep my eyes open.
On the flight to Dusseldorf, i was passed out from the time i sat down to that
uncomfortable THUMP when the plane touched down. Then again tried to keep my
eyes open while waiting for the Berlin flight.
Dusseldorf--Berlin Flight: passed out again throughout the whole flight. no
drinks, no peanuts, no nothing.
So the whole thing took 40 elapsed hours -- reaching berlin Wednesday night
instead of Tuesday.
