Subject: Nothing much at all.

Anyway, on my own again.... From there it was a hike to the Pantheon (stopping
for a gelato on the way)... Pantheon is nice, but not all i had expected. In my
mind i had built it up and it was nice, but not great. What was impressive
though is that it's been kept almost 100% intact since the Roman empire! Also,
there's a big hole in the dome on top, and that lets in plenty of sunlight (and
the rain)... so it was bright inside the building - great for photographs! I
liked the fountain outside it too.

From there, a very short walk to the Piazza Navona again, this time in
daylight. Of course very nice, and there were also a couple of street
entertainers who were pretty good.... good enough that I actually left them
some money!! One guy was riding a 10-15 feet tall unicycle while juggling
firesticks! mammamia!

After that, another hike across the Tiber river and to Piazza St. Pietro again
- yesterday I did not spend much time here - the tour was too rushed. So this
time I took some pictures of the fountains etc... and by then it was getting
dark. About 1/2 mile walk to the metro station and took the train back to the
hotel. Along the way also saw some christmas lights/decorations... but when I
tried to take a picture I found out I had used up the entire memory stick on my
camera throughout the day -- 106 pictures taken today! I actually had to erase
one picture to take a picture of the lights.

I'm VERY glad I brought my laptop -- it's paid off well in spite of carrying it
around everywhere. I counted the number of pictures taken on this trip so
far... all saved on my laptop including today's pics.... 89 in all of Greece
combined and 240 in Rome/Naples/Pompeii. I've been in Greece & Italy for 4 days
each now, and taken 2.696629213 times more pictures in Italy. And today isn't
over yet...

Laptop is currently charging in the hotel room, the camera is fully charged and
memory stick emptied, and ready for the show tonight!

Today ended up being a walking tour from one end of rome to another... And I
dont want to take the metro back tonight from Piazza Popolo, so it'll be
another long walk back to the hotel after midnight.. good thing is that there
are 2 very good fountains along the way -- Trevi and Barberini. Also Repubblica
fountain next to my hotel, which I see every single day and night.

3,5 hours left for the new year (using Italian style of numbers).. The people I
was supposed to meet tonight from the Pompeii tour will be at 11pm... so i have
a lot of time to kill. Dont really feel like walking any more, so will probably
just stay here surfing web.

Amyway, for the third time i think... happy new year to everyone and ...

Don't drink and drive..... and "be safe".

Kalihnita!
Arrivederci!
Adios!
