Today -- it's a beautiful day outside, other than being chilly. Unfortunately,
it's a holiday and EVERYTHING is closed - except this internet cafe and a few
restaurants! No tours anywhere - I had bought a tour earlier to Epidaurus and
Mycenae, but it's not available. Fortunately I got my money back and tomorrow's
Sounion tour has been changed to Delphi tour (supposed to be yesterday).
So anyway, today has become a "free day" with absolutely nothing to do and
nothing to see. My hotel has CNN, and that's the only english channel on TV --
all others are greek (all music channels) or french. This morning I had gone up
to the suburb of Khifisia, walked around the Plaka area too -- all outdoor
cafes and streetside vendors pulling people in to look at what they have to
sell. Reminds me so much of India!
Saturday morning I leave Athens for Rome....
I've taken about 80 pictures so far, and my hotel room has a 110V electical
outlet for recharging my laptop & camera! :) Only thing is it's in the
bathroom! Argh!
